Carman Heating supplies and installs solar power systems throughout South Australia. Solar power is the cleanest, most viable form of renewable energy available and can be used in several forms to help power your house.

Using solar panels is a great way to generate clean and renewable electricity to power remote appliances, or even the average home. There are two main types of solar power systems- the grid connect and stand alone (off grid).

The beauty of grid connect solar power system is its simplicity;

The solar panels when exposed to sunlight generate DC electricity. The DC charge goes through a special grid connect inverter suitable for the use by household appliances. Any excess electricity is then fed back into the mains grid. This is called exporting. You will be paid extra for the electricity you export.

Stand alone PV systems are designed to operate independent of the electric utility grid, and are generally designed and sized to supply certain DC and/or AC electrical loads. Stand alone systems with battery backup can supply power 100% of the time; at night, on cloudy days and when the utility power is down. Excellent for remote areas where utility power is inaccessible.

Wind turbines can also be added to stand alone systems to help with the charging system of the battery storage.
